Homemade Energy Booster
For Baby Chicks

After you select the best place to get your baby chicks, you're now ready to set up your brooder.

To give your chicks an added BOOST, make up this simple electrolyte recipe to add to their water. This is a easy recipe there's no reason not to make some for your new chicks. 

If you're ordering your chicks this recipe is great to help your chicks with the stress of shipping. And even if you're buying your chicks locally this is still a great way to get them off to a great healthy start. 

After they get a bit older I still like to occasionally add in some garlic and apple cider vinegar to their water. It's so good for them! And if you're raising layers, there's the added bonus of garlic and apple cider vinegar, helping them to lay more eggs...at least that's what some people say.

The Ingredients...

Garlic is antibacterial, antiviral, an infection preventer,  and its a worm preventative & treatment.

Apple Cider Vinegar is an amazing source of probiotics, helps their digestion, boosts their immune system, gives them energy, and it helps with respiratory problems. 

The honey is in here for some additional energy. You want live, active, happy baby chicks!

Feeding all this good stuff to your new chicks helps them fight anything they might be dealing with (stress, sickness, etc.), and it gives them a great start to a long healthy life!

DIY Energy Booster Recipe--> For Chicks

The following quantities are for one quart of water. Adjust the recipe to the right size waterer you have. 

• 1 clove of fresh garlic, crushed or minced
• 2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
• 1/4 cup raw honey

Add garlic, apple cider vinegar, and honey to a quart of water. Mix until honey is dissolved. 

Feed to your baby chicks in their waterer. I like this one. It's cheap, simple and works great.
